Welcome to the home of Big 5 Kayak Challenge.
The Big 5 Kayak Challenge is about a small team taking on 5 distinct and unique expeditions, paddling some of the most challenging water on the planet. We are also supporting some great causes.
The First The Big5
The First Big 5 Kayak Challenge involved kayaking 85 miles down Southampton Water and round the Isle of Wight, in Sept 2008 followed by 183 miles in 36 hours paddling the The length of Thames, during arctic conditions in Feb 2009. The team then paddlled The English Channel, dodging ferries, in April 2009 and then 30 miles to the Isles of Scilly from Lands End in May 2009. We then paddled The Inside Passage in July 2009, 1000 miles fromVancouver to Alaska, avoiding orcas and bears.
We officially launch the next Big 5 Kayak (with a little cycling) on main stage at the London Boat Show (16th Jan 2010)
Another Big 5

- Canoeing the Yukon, DUE MAY 2010
- John O'Groats to the Orkney Islands, DUE JUNE 2010
- Scotland to Ireland via Jura and the Corryvreckan, DUE AUGUST 2010

We want to raise awareness for the River Access Campaign (its time to let us paddle more than 3% of English and Welsh rivers!!www.riversaccess.org) and are also now ambassadors for the Marine Conservation Society (www.mcsuk.org ) so sign up please.
So enough from us. To enable us to raise the funds we need sponsorship (check out the Just Giving Pages). We also need company sponsorship in return for high profile PR and media coverage. Get Involved. We need your help, spread the word, register your details and encourage your friends and colleagues to support us.
We are picking up the tab for our expedition costs so all the personal sponsorship donated goes directly to the charities.
Thanks
