The Big 5 Kayak Challenge
The Big 5 Kayak Challenge (2009) started as 5 Big Kayaking challenges with open water crossings, paddling in blizzards and a 1,000 mile epic adventure from Vancouver to Glacier Bay, Alaska. These distinct and unique expeditions, paddling some of the most challenging water on the planet become a life changing experience for all of us with bears, wolves, whales and of course iconic locations. We were supported along the way with amazing local hospitality and with a brilliant team taking part and behind the scenes.
The journey has continued to grow, within us, and shape parts of our life.  Different team members have joined for different elements and it has become a way of life for founder Richard Harpham who has now completed over 6,000 miles of human power. Our challenges have grown over time and we have now completed Big 5 Kayak challenge 2010 which saw us sea kayak around Malta and Gozo, canoe 700 miles of the Yukon River and in 2010 Richard kayaked and cycled 2363 miles from London to Marrakech. The team has been featured on BBC 1 several times, national radio, regional TV for BBC and ITV, a number of magazines and websites.  The last expedition The Spare Seat saw Richard Harpham and Glenn Charles kayak over 500 miles from Niagara Falls to the Statue of Liberty across New York State. There is plenty in the pipeline with a trip to the Sahara, Siberia and the Spare Seat Scotland.
All the way along we figured if we were doing what we loved doing then why not make a difference to some great causes. We have raised considerable funds for different charities and also awareness for some great causes. We have picked up the tab for our expedition costs so all the personal sponsorship donated will go directly to the charities.
We have an incredible track record of expeditions, high profile media coverage and a great story. Why not book us for talk or contact us to discuss sponsoring Richard or the team. Â Â
Thanks
Richard
